The City's 2014 Plan
The
City's current plan is not the first. In 2014 the City entered into a plan
that would have demolished a huge section of the park to build a parking
lot.
The picture, to the left, was taken from City Hall Report ID:
2014-00929. In the image, the park land, west of the existing parking lot, would be
destroyed in “Phase 1”. When “Phase 2” was implemented,
a massive section of land, east
of the baseball field, would be destroyed.
Fortunately,
for the families of Arden & Carmichael, this plan did not come to fruition.
The
